How do I manage a job interview with Hearing person? How do I become a welcome part of the team at my place of work? How can spirituality help me to lead a more meaningful and happier life? In the answer to all these questions, I remember my culturally Deaf friend Sarah.
Sripathy KonnadaBefore going for a job interview in the city, Sarah signed to me important tips to remember at the interview. She was interpreter for me at the interview. After getting the job, she suggested I become a Sign Language evangelist at the office. I did. From my boss to my colleagues, I began sharing the beauties of Sign Language. Soon, several of them would wish me in Sign Language. We had a smiling environment an environment of Deaf Culture.
As a hobby, I used to paint pictures. But could I do it more seriously, focusing on expressing Deaf life? Sarah held a meeting in her home and encouraged us budding artists to begin looking at Deaf Art. Now, I have a full collection of Deaf Art.
Before meeting her, my life was just about eat, work, sleep and eat. Not at all satisfying! But now, things have changed. Sarah and I, together with many other Deaf, believe we are working with God, helping people live more spiritual, meaningful and happier lives, for today and into eternity.
