When some of my friends took me to meet Sarah, I was rather scared. I felt in my heart maybe she is a witch woman with special powers. But all changed when I saw her using Sign language. Just like a Deaf person. I became one of her regular students.
She taught me and encouraged me a lot. From corporate grooming, professional ethics to painting to spiritual living and handling my own emotions. Today, I have a dear friend in Sarah. Yes, she is a hearing person. But for me, she is one of my closest and dearest Deaf friends and advisors!
Something impressed me about Sarah: When she had to choose between the company of Hearing guests and Deaf guests at home, Sarah chose to be with the Deaf. Selfish of me! But there it is. That's why we Deaf love her so much and have accepted her into our community as one of us.
